Used Car Checklist

There are some critical questions you need to ask yourself when buying a used car:

Decide what your budget is. This is very important if you don’t want to worry about paying more for a car than you can afford. There are some optimal budget guidelines that most experts recommend:

1. Your monthly car payment should be no more than 15% of your gross pay or 20% of your take-home pay.

2. The down payment should be at minimum 20% of the purchase price.
The condition of the vehicle along with the mileage will play a role in
price. Know too that the prices you have researched online are just ballpark figures.

3. Once you have decided what the car will be used for, you can narrow the type of car you are looking for down to a few makes and models. This will help you to do some research work on reviews of those cars and help determine which car will suit your lifestyle best.

4. What type of warranty does the vehicle come with? Purchasing a certified pre-owned car usually offers the buyer an extra level of quality assurance.

5. Is there service history available on the vehicle that can be verified?

6. Can you test drive the car? Test driving the car on both local
roads and highways is always preferable. That way you can get a feel for the drive and how it performs in different environments.
