Models Under 50K Miles?
The Acura brand is full of foreign finesse and a form of aesthetic casual luxury that presents the image portraying the brand's overall sophisticated style of design. A common fact that is oftentimes misconstrued and not well known altogether is that Acura is in fact a derivative of Honda. Acura is the Honda's luxury brand of motor vehicle. If you've ever seen an Acura and a Toyota side by side, you've perhaps seen the similarities, although the Acura is designed with a more refined grace.
The Acura MDX is a mid-size three-row seated crossover vehicle (CUV) produced since 2000 by the Honda automotive manufacturer. Its namesake represents its general mantra: "Multi-Dimensional Luxury". The MDX is the best-selling three-row luxury crossover of all time, with sales in the United States reaching close to one million by the end of 2014. In terms of platform design, the Acura MDX is of a close relation to the Honda Pilot.
Appearance Over Time
Over the seventeen years of its successful existence, the Acura MDX has changed significantly in terms of its physical appearance. The first generation of the Acura MDX looks hardly anything like its present third-generation model, which features lower side-skirting and paneling, a new chiseled and intelligible light design that offers the MDX a more luxurious image--Acura's Jewel Eye LED headlight design at work--and very purposeful ridges and divots in its framework that have increased the aerodynamics of the MDX, reducing air drag by 16% by incorporating modern exclusive technologies to their design processes. Structure rigidity is enhanced through the use of high-strength steel, cutting the overall curb weight of the MDX down significantly. A reduced curb weight signifies Acura's interest in making the MDX fuel efficient and easier to handle.
The grille design of the Acura MDX has retained its classic trademark presence but is now laced with chrome trim about its bold v-shape. Paneled grilles in the front bumper have been added, also laced with chrome trim that gives the car an increased aura of luxury, which it undoubtedly deserves.
The third generation Acura MDX has undergone rigorous performance updates to ensure that the crossover competition is neatly eliminated from its playing field. The MDX was released in the United States with a front-wheel-drive drivetrain option that was never available in the past, as all previous models of the MDX were strictly rear-wheel-drive vehicles. Enhancements of the vehicles frame and aerodynamics makes the new MDX faster, fuel efficient, and safe.
The Acura MDX features an all new optional Knee Keeping Assist System and a Collision Mitigation Breaking System. The Cruise Control in the current generation Acura MDX is Adaptive, meaning it has the ability to stop and go on its own with perfect functionality.
